She was born in Greenfield, WI and was a Libertyville resident from 1959 until moving to Saddlebrook Farms in Grayslake in 2002. She was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville and a current member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods. Betty enjoyed music, playing the cello, piano and organ and was an outstanding teacher of ballet and tap dancing. She was a member of the Dancing Masters of Chicago.
