U.S. Navy - 1950 - 1952 - Landing Craft - End - 3rd Class. Due to this service time, he was forced to virtually abandon his widowed mother and 5 sisters. After his marriage, he returned only for short visits. This seems to have caused a great deal of strain in his relationships with them.
