"None of the 4 male children of William Thomas Smith & Malinda Buff Smith ever married. Their sister, Charlotte Rebekah Smith, inherited everything that they had. Malinda inherited the property where her parents, John Leonard Buff, Jr & Catherine Vanderbirt Buff, were buried.
The land upon which the Smith-Floyd Cemetery is located was donated for this purpose by one of the Smith boys. A cousin, Kenneth Webb, has the original paperwork on this Cemetery. It is my understanding that all Smith, Floyd, & Horton families may be buried there, as well as their families. That has been interpreted to include cousins, or spouse's parents, etc. There are also 2 Confederate soldiers buried there who died while on the way home from the war, but their names were never known.
