Bonnie Lou Shafer, 31, Waldron, died at 3:30 a.m. today at W.S. Major Hospital. She had been in failing health.
A daughter of Herschel and Martha L. (Paul) Holt, Waldron, she was born in Decatur County on February 20, 1953. In 1971, she married Jim Shafer, who survives.
A lifelong Waldron area resident, she was a homemaker and a member of the Waldron Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents; children, Ronnie, Beth and Misty Shafer, all at home; brothers, Glenn Holt, St. Paul, Jeff Holt, William Holt and Jack Holt, all of Waldron; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Huff, St. Paul, Mrs. Edwin (Deborah) Kluemper, St. Paul, Mrs. Steven (Paula) Coy, Edinburgh, and Kathy Holt, Waldron; and a grandmother, Zella Paul, St. Paul.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, St. Paul, with the Rev. Sam Wright officiating. Burial will be in VanPelt Cemetery.
