Paul Lint will officiate with burial in the Hettinger Cemetery at a later date. Military Honors will be afforded by the Johnson-Melary American Legion Post #115 of Hettinger.

Barry Lynn Galbreath, 58 Lake Benton, Minnesota formerly of Hettinger, ND died December 22, 2014 at VA Hospice, Sioux Falls, SD.

Barry was born April 11, 1956 in Lemmon, SD to Vance and Delores (Davidson) Galbreath. Barry attended grade school in Haynes and high school in Hettinger. Barry graduated in May 1974 then 4 days after graduation left for the United States Navy. Barry served in the US Navy from 1974 to 1994 when he retired. During his years in the Navy, he traveled the world on air force carriers such as the USS Midway. On his world travels, he married Anabelle in the Philippians and through this union they had two children. Upon Barry’s retirement from the Navy, he chose to return to Hettinger in 1999 for 5 years. Barry went on to study AA Computer Support at MN West Technical College and graduated in 2007. Barry continued to live in Minnesota.

One of Barry’s passions was fishing. Barry always had a reason to go fishing whether the weather was good or bad. His last residence was an ideal location for him, lakeside in Lake Benton, MN. All he had to do was walk out the back door and down the dock to the lake. Another passion of Barry’s was pinochle. He NEVER passed up a game of cards with family or friends. If you ever had him as your partner, you were very lucky because he knew every “trick” of the game.

He is survived by his mother, Delores Galbreath, Hettinger, sisters Debbie Galbreath, Bismarck, Tracy (Ohnara) Minh, Hettinger, one son Christopher Galbreath, Brentwood, CA and one daughter, Vanessa Galbreath, Oakley, CA, one nephew and one niece, Parker Minh and Regan Minh, Hettinger and special friend Tammy Hammerschmidt, Lake Benton, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vance Galbreath; and one brother, Mark Galbreath, in infancy.
