Alice Butler Thomas, age 64, of Robbins, passed away Friday evening, May 20th, at the Scott County Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Artis Butler and was also preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Thomas. Mrs. Thomas had professed a hope in Christ and had been faithfully attending services at the Community Chapel in Rugby for the past three years. She is survived by her mother: Mrs. Pearl “Moore” Terry of Robbins; two daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Stringfield of Route 1, Glenmary, and Mrs. Ogelee Smith of Route 1, Oneida; two sons: Silas Thomas and Hillary Thomas both of Covington, Kentucky; one sister Mrs. Marie Terry of Oneida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 23rd, at 2:00 p.m. at the Collins-Murley Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Summers of Sunbright officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Cemetery. Pallbearers were: David Boils, David Terry, Estel Terry, Lauton Terry, Ricky Terry, and Hubert Winchester. Collins-Murley Mortuary of Oneida in charge of arrangements.
