Betty Lucille Acken, age 90, of Nunica passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014, at her home. She was born July 2, 1924 in Grand Rapids to Edward A. and Githa (Fox) Hoffius, she married Jack Acken who preceded her in death. Betty loved knitting, gardening, reading, and feeding the birds. Betty is lovingly remembered by three daughters: Nancy Spytma, Madeline Langlois, and Kathy Langlois; her son, Tom (Luan) Chapin; eight grandchildren; her sister, Carol (Ilene) Burd. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Burns; her sister, Peggy Martin; her brother, Don Hoffius. Private family services will be held at a later date.
