Dale Glenn Greathouse, 87, of Bath, Ohio, formerly of Masontown, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at his son's home after a lengthy illness.

He was born Jan. 9, 1914, in Masontown, son of the late William R. and Cora Virginia Rogers Greathouse.

He was a coal miner in West Virginia and worked at Fruehof Trailer in Avon Lake, Ohio, before retiring from Lorain Products 25 years ago. He attended Broadway Assembly, Lorain, Ohio, and was a member of the UMW. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret S. Jeffers Greathouse; two sons and spouses, Harold and Mary Greathouse, of Apopka, Fla., and Terry and Nancy Greathouse, of Bath; a daughter and spouse, Carolyn and Ron Brown, of Avon Lake; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kermit Greathouse, of Kingwood, and Bernard Greathouse, of Morgantown.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Greathouse; three brothers and four sisters.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, at the Broadway Assembly, Lorain, Ohio, with the Rev. Mark Lance officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Donations: Salvation Army.
