Little Anne Bonine was born about 2 months prematurely in mid-July 1914 in a Washington DC hospital. After only two hours she suffered fatal respiratory failure as her lungs were not developed enough to breathe unassisted. Her parents were understandably very distraught.
Baby Anne Bonine was buried on July 17, 1914, at Glenwood Cemetery in Washington DC but never forgotten.
Four years later, Professor C.A. and Beulah Bonine, now living in State College, Pennsylvania, were blessed with the birth of another daughter, whom they named ANN, who grew to maturity and raised her own family.
