Services for Mary Ethel Copeland, 80, were conducted Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bennie Mathews, pastor, officiating. A eulogy was given by Elizabeth Adams.

Born August 23, 1910, at Whitesboro, Texas, Mrs. Copeland died March 2, 1991, in a Dallas, Texas, hospital. She was the daughter of Rob and Hulda Scott Willis.

Mrs. Copeland was a retired school teacher, having taught in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Texas schools. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Marietta. She and Hardin Edgar (Dutch) Copeland were married in October 1928.

She is survived by cousins, Bob and LaNell Michael, Edith Jenkins, and Lou Hill of Marietta, and Virginia Hilgart of Hurst, Texas; and an aunt, Clemmie Michael of Marietta.

Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, her father in 1968, and her mother in 1983.

Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Claude Brannan, Rick Brannan, Clark Tipton, Joe Martin, Larry Martin, and Warren Griffin.
