MARY B. HENDERSON, wife of Daniel W. Henderson, died at Old Town, Jackson County, (IN), July 26 1902, her death being the result of Paralysis of the stomach. Mary B. Henderson nee Garr, was born January 28, 1852 being at her death 49 years, 5 months and 29 days of age. She came of one of the prominent and pioneer families of West Louisville, KY.
To her father and mother, Murry and Mary Garr, were born thirteen children of whom ten, with the mother survive. She was married to Daniel W. Henderson September 5th 1901, came with him to his home at Old Town where she lived until death claimed her. Mary was one whom to know was akin to meeting one of those bright spots in the path of life, where sunshine, good deer and soul enjoyment makes us forget the cares of this life, and to think only of the sweet life beyond.
Combined in her disposition, were at all whose finer qualities of the soul, which orders on the Angelic without ostenalon, always jus her kind loving self. What one always felt refreshed by her presence. She joined, and was a member of 224 and Jefferson Street Baptist Church at Louisville, of which she was a faithful consistent member until death. The remains were taken to the old family home on Chestnut street Wes Louisville, where the funeral services were conducted by her pastor. Rev. Demitt, assisted by Rev. D. J. Griffith, after which surrounded by mother, husband, brother and sisters and a host of relatives and friends was laid her to rest in Cave Hill to await the resurrection fpf the just.
