Arthur Andrus
Arthur Cyrus Andrus, 75, of 64 Burtis Street, Celoron, died at 7:05 P.M. Wednesday in Jamestown General Hospital.
Mr. Andrus was born in Ellington, Nov. 2, 1880, the son of Delbert and Cora Wheeler Andrus. He had been a resident of Celoron eight years. Prior to retirement seven years ago, Mr. Andrus was a farmer and a cheesemaker. He also was employed by the American Manufacturing Company.
He was a former member of the Cherry Creek Baptist Church and at one time played with the Ellington band.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy J. Andrus; a daughter, Mrs. Eva Winans, Lakewood; three grandchildren, Leslie Winans, Jamestown; Boyd Winans, Buffalo, and Susan Winans, Toledo, O.; six great-grandchildren and one step-son, Laverne Dowd.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday from the Henderson-Lincoln Chapel. Rev. C. Norton Warner, pastor of the Kidder Memorial E.U.B. Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Ellington Cemetery.
