A Rosary will be recited today at 7 P.M. at St. Dominic's in Orland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Saturday at St. Dominic's. Burial will be in Orland Catholic Cemetery.
Born Aug. 24, 1941 in San Bernardino, she was the daughter of Clarence and Opal Winsett. She graduated from high school in Fresno. She has been an Orland resident for the past 41 years. Her passions in life included her family and friends , antique dealing and restoration, interior designing, collecting antique perfume bottles, flowers and the love of her birds.
Survivors include her husband, Frank "Sonny" Simons of Orland; two daughters, Vivian Simons of Reno, Nev. and Veronica Gomes of Willows; her mother, Opal Winsett of Orland; one sister, Valerie Van-Leeuween of Elko, Nev.; one brother, Lonnie Winsett of Orland; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Simons, and by a granddaughter, Kelsey Gomes.
The family suggests memorials to Butte Home Health Hospice in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son of Orland.
