Chester C. Challman, age 83, of Holstein, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein.
Military rites conducted by the American Legion Dessel-Schmidt Post #225 of Holstein.

Chester “Chet” C. Challman was born October 13, 1931 to Doris (Bochwoldt) and Chester C, Challman in an old farmhouse in Sac County, Iowa. He graduated from Galva High School and went the U.S. Trade School in Chicago, IL. He served in the U.S. Air Force from July 20, 1950 to November 9, 1953.
On March 21, 1954, he married Jean Needham at the Galva Methodist Church. To this union two children were born, Chris and Rosemary.
Chet enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as taking trips to Texas and Minnesota. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Holstein.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Holstein, IA; son, Christopher Challman of Longmont, CO; daughter, Rosemary and husband, Dr. Gary Jacobs of Longview, TX; grandchildren, Justus Challman and Lauren, Jennea Challman and husband Nathan Denardi, Joshua Jacobs; two great-grandchildren with two on the way; and a sister JoAnna Challman.
