Jacqueline P. "Jackie" Holland, 87, of the New Dawn Retirement Community and formerly of New Philadelphia went home to be in the arms of the Lord Wednesday, January 1, 2014 following a period of declining health.

Jackie was a retired employee of Handy Harman in Dover and had previously worked as a glass cutter for the former Alsco Company in Sugarcreek.

Born June 19, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Barnesville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hannah Myrtle (Grable) Ankrom.

She was a member of the Dover Eagles and the New Philadelphia VFW. She had many interests including fishing, traveling, and mushroom hunting. Most important in her life was her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Holland who died April 3, 1986.

She will be sadly missed by her seven children that include Connie (Estill) Newsome of Mineral City, Nancy (James) Watson of Dennison, Mary (Bruce) Seevers of New Philadelphia, Patricia (Larry) McClain of Bolivar, Kay (Mitch) Garner of Dover, John Holland of Asheville, North Carolina and Penny (George) Ankrom of Bolivar along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by sixteen brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 beginning at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Jason Snyder officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 5 from 2-5pm.
