Nannie Lou McDonald went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Mr. Eugene (Gene) F. McDonald; sons, Darrell (Sharyn) McDonald, Danny (Cindy) McDonald and Barry (Deborah) McDonald; grandchildren, Jason McDonald, Alicia (Kevin) Smith, Jennifer (Kenneth) Elliott, Barry Jr. (Kristie) McDonald, Beckee McDonald, Charity Farrow and Jeremy (Amber) McDonald; great-grandchildren, Wesley Hatchett, Carter Hatchett, Grayson McDonald, Clara Jane Smith, Josiah Farrow, Caleb Farrow, Penny McDonald and Eloise McDonald.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Leak Memory Chapel with Bro. Mike Northcutt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason McDonald, Barry McDonald, Jr., Kevin Smith, Kenneth Elliott, Jerry Lee and Larry Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Strickland, Otis Reeves, Philip Reeves and Buddy Reeves.
Mrs. McDonald was a member of Eastmont Baptist (formerly Second Baptist) for over 65 years. For 25 years, she volunteered at Baptist East Medical Center making Teddy Bears for newborns and children at the hospital. Mrs. McDonald dedicated her life to serving others through her church and other ministries. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Eastmont Baptist Church.
