In 1915, Gertrude A. Gerard, aged 2, was living in Brookhaven, NY, in the home of her parents, Buel Gerard, aged 68, and Mary Gerard, aged 38, with siblings, Charles S. Gerard, aged 18, Herman F. Gerard, aged 17, and Willford F. Gerard, aged 10. Her father was shown to be a bayman.

In 1925, Gertrude A. Gerard, aged 12, was living in Brookhaven, NY, in the home of her parents, Buel E. Gerard, aged 72, and Mary L. Gerard, aged 47, with her brother, Wilford S. Gerard, aged 20. Her father was shown to be a fisherman-bayman.

Gertrude Gerard Montecalvo, of Center Moriches, who was married by a Justice of the Peace to Augustus Montecalvo of the same village, while under age and who sued her supposed husband for separation, lost her suit, according to a decision of Supreme Court Justice Dodd, as reported in the Law Journal. After she and Montecalvo were married by a justice of the peace, it came to light that an amendment to the law made a marriage of a minor by any person other than a judge of a court of record void. When "Mrs." Montecalvo tried to get her "husband" to undergo a marriage ceremony before County Judge Furman he refused. A child was born to the couple and she sued Montecalvo for a separation and lost according to Judge Dodd. The court refuses to the claim that there was a common-law marriage in the couple's relations.

The Young's car was badly damaged and both Mr. and Mrs. Young were hurt, Mrs. Young receiving a sprained arm and bruises. Mr. Young was thrown forward, striking his chest on the steering wheel. They were treated by Dr. Wickham D. Case of Center Moriches.
