Eva May Evans, 93, of Effingham, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont. As Eva wished there will be no visitation or public services and burial will be in Funkhouser Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 213 W. Fayette Avenue, Effingham, IL 62401 Online condolences may be shared at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com Eva was born on May 8, 1921, the daughter of James O. and Hattie (Perring) Tucker. On April 29, 1942, Eva married Delbert C. Evans. They shared 60 years of marriage before his passing on June 28, 2002. Eva was a homemaker and for a time worked in the office at Norge. Eva was a member of the First Baptist Church in Effingham, R.S.V.P, Senior Center, Golden Circle Nutrition Center, and the Diabetes Association. Eva is survived by her son, Steven Clark (wife, Linda) Evans of Mode; daughter, Mickie Alwerdt of Altamont; daughter-in-law, Donna Evans of Maryville; 6 grandchildren, Sheri, Todd, Chad, Cody, Jodi, and Jessie; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronnie Evans; grandson; 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
