BREEN - The quiet spirit of John C. Breen ascended into heaven, January 13, 2003. Celebrating his life on departure are his wife of 59 years, Bessie (Thurkettle). Children, Mick and Barb Breen, Sue Ann and Gary Clark and grandchildren, Paige and Steven Kelly. Stephanie and Scott Miller, Holly Mitchell, Brian Mitchell and fiance, Kelly Buchholz; and three great grandchildren. John's family tree has branches that reach to many special people in his life, young and old. Everyone who came to know him knew his unconditional love for people.
John was a WWII veteran retiring to Grand Rapids to work at Breen Bros. Manufacturing before moving on to Grand Rapids Metalcraft. He finished his working career with special friends at Etna Suply Co. John was selfless in all he gave to family and friends. In this spirit, please consider a contribution to Heartland Hospice who assisted in his final wishes or a charity of your choosing.
Funeral services including committal will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel. The family will be at the funeral chapel to greet friends and relatives Wednesday 2 to 8 p.m. and Thurdsay from 12 to 1 p.m.
