Born Alida Houtsma in Sexbierum, Friesland, Holland. The daughter of Hendrik Houtsma and Jeltje Boutsma Houtsma, she arrived in America with her parents and siblings on April 21, 1904. Wife of Ben (Albertus) Mulder, they were married in Boyden, Sioux County, Iowa on November 13, 1911.
