O'CALLAGHAN, FRANCIS EUGENE III, born June 28, 1929 in New Rochelle NY to Marion O'Reilly and Francis E. O'Callaghan Jr., died at Norton Hospital on Wednesday January 12, 2011. He was surrounded by most of his large family and some friends.

Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years, Thomasine "Tommie" Cadden O'Callaghan; two brothers, Father John J. O'Callaghan S. J. and Donald Dahn O'Callaghan (Janell, deceased); sister, Mary Anne Cronan (Mike); seven children, Kathie O'Callaghan (Bruno Walmsley), Nancy O'Carroll (Dermott), Diane Kirven (Pete), Colleen O'Callaghan (Kimithy Vaughan), Kim Kennedy (Todd), Sarah Gray (John) and John (Heather); 24 grandchildren, Colin, Elizabeth, Sarah and Andrew Walmsley, Kim, Jason and Colleen Keeler, Kailie, Matthew, Thomas and Tucker Kirven, Marnie, Nicolas and Michael Vaughan, Ryan (Amanda), Christopher, Ian and Alec Kennedy, Callie, Saba and Devon Gray and Frank, Cooper and Hattie O'Callaghan; and one great-grandson, Lucas Keeler.

Frank graduated from St. Xavier H.S. in Louisville in 1947 and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Frank worked at American Air Filter as managing director of the International Sales Department and left in 1988. He helped bring Wako Electronics to Louisville in 1988, where he worked as COO and currently as executive advisor.

Frank was a Paul Harris Fellow and member since 1989 of Louisville Downtown Rotary where he had perfect attendance (typical!) and served on many committees. He and Tommie are parishioners of St. Frances of Rome Church.

Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2011 from 2-6 p.m. at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckinridge Lane, Louisville 40207. His funeral Mass will be noon Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. Frances of Rome, 2119 Payne St. Burial will follow at The Abbey of Gethsemani, 3642 Monks Road, New Haven, KY 40051.
