OBITUARY

Michael Dale Funk

SEPTEMBER 24, 1937 – JANUARY 18, 2012

IN THE CARE OF Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary

MICHAEL DALE FUNK was called to join his loving wife, Beatrice, on January 18th, 2012.

He was known for his kindness and generosity.

He was born in Los Angeles and moved to Palmdale at the age of sixteen.

He left the Antelope Valley to serve our Nation in the Army. This is also when he met the love of his life, Beatrice, in New Mexico. They moved to Palmdale almost 50 years ago. Michael had two careers in Palmdale. He worked for Northrop for 32 years in the finanace department. He also started High Desert Realty 18 years ago with his wife Beatrice. His interest was connected to his roots as he was the great grandson of John Muir, the father of our National Parks.

Michael loved the outdoors, plants, flowers, and animals. He raised guinea pigs and some of them made it to Hollywood.

He is survived by his sister, Gail Culbertson, of Palmdale and three daughters, Liz Heredia, Janette Tracz, and Terri Graham; and son, Sandy Sandoval. He has seven grandchildren as well as six great grandchildren and one on the way.

We will remember his beautiful smile and know that he is dancing in heaven with his beautiful wife. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at 11am at Eternal Valley Memorial Park's Chapel of the Oaks. He will be laid to rest in Eternal Valley Memorial Park at a private, family-only, ceremony.

Arrangements under the direction of Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, Newhall, CA.
