Mary Kathryn Hill, age 90 of Upper Sandusky died at Fairhaven Health Care Community at 9:23 am. on Sun. Dec. 28, 2014. On Dec. 16, 1924 she born in Fremont to the late Francis H. and Iona M. (Schlessman) Shirk. She married Thomas C. Hill on May 1, 1948 and he preceded her in death on Mar. 25, 2005. Mrs. Hill is survived by 4 sons Mark Hill, Alvada, Thomas Hill, Upper Sandusky, Jeffrey Hill, Chesterville, VA, David Hill Columbus, 4 daughters Margaret Bascou, Santa Cruz, CA, Susan Daubin, Prescott, AZ, Rebecca Service, Saratoga Springs, NY, Nanette Supley, Saratoga Springs, NY, 16 grandchildren Jason Bazarnick, Zach Bazarnick, Katie Ann Stein, Diana Marie Stein, Suzanne Stein, Gregory Hill, Garrett Hill, David Hill, Amanda Hill, Jeana Hill, Simon Hill, Melissa Wilt, Alicia Hill, Sarah Hill, Mark Hill and Thomas Hill, 2 great grandchild Jayden Wilt, Serphina Bazarnick and a brother Richard Shirk, Venice, FL. She is preceded in death by a sister Phyllis Knall. Mrs. Hill was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church for over 30 years and was active in the CLC. She was also a former member of the pastoral church council for 7 years. Mrs. Hill graduated from St. Benedict Catholic School in Cambridge, OH. She attended Bliss College in Columbus and received her degree in Business. Mrs. Hill was a secretary at Wright Field VA, Columbus retiring in 1950 and became a homemaker. She was a life member of the Girl Scouts as well as a member of the Red Hat Society, Dolphinettes, wives of WWII Submarine Veterans and Wyandot County Historical Society. Mrs. Hill was a former member of the PTA at Lindenhurst School in Long Island, NY. For hobbies she enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, camping, and playing the piano. She was known for her peach cobbler, butter cutout cookies and fruit cake. One of her favorite quotes was “This is Living”. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, jokes, being better on the computer then her own daughters and a hip grandmother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday January 7th, 2015 at 11:00am in Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father J.R. Hadnagy O.F.M. Conv. officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday Jan. 6th, 2015 from 3pm-6pm at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2:30pm and a CLC service at 6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter School Endowment Fund or the American Girl Scouts in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
