He served with the RAF during World War I. When he returned he resided in Calgary until 1921 when he moved to Didsbury and operated a garage for 18 years. While in Didsbury he served on the town council and school board. He was active in the Liberal party and the Canadian Legion. After retiring in 1939 he took up residence west of Olds, returning to Calgary in 1948 where he has since resided. He was past master of the King Harem Lodge No. 21, AF and AM, Didsbury.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Winnifred of Calgary and three daughters.
