MRS. J. PLOEDERL, SR., PASSES AWAY HERE AFTER HEART ATTACK
Mrs. Theresa Ploederl, aged 68, wife of Joseph Ploederl, Sr., passed
away at the family home at 1312 Green street, this city, early this morning,
death following a period of long suffering brought about by heart trouble.
Msg. Peil will conduct services Friday morning at 8:30 from the home and
at nine from the St. Boniface church and burial will take place at Calvary.
Mrs. Ploederl, nee Kapitz, was born in Germany, July 14?, 185_ and came
to this country in 1892? moving to Manitowoc in 1896 where she has since
lived. Thirty five years ago she was married to Joseph Ploederl who survives
to mourn her passing.
Eight children, all but one of this city, 21 grand children and two brothers survive.
The children are: Mrs. Ed. Wagner and Mrs. Reuben Bergner of this city, and
Edward, George, John, Joseph, Jr., and Frank, also of this city, and Louis of
Antigo. The brothers are George and Joseph Kapitz of Manitowoc.

"Although the obituary says they married in 1889, the censuses show that Joseph came to America in 1885 and Theresa in 1893 (or in 1892 according to Frank's naturalization document). Joseph had two sons (Joseph b.1888 and Louis b.1889) in America, and Theresa had two sons (Joseph b.1886 and Frank b.1889) in Austria, before they married in 1892 or 1893 in America."
