AUGUST "AUGIE" STUECK
(1926 - 2006)

August W. "Augie" Stueck, age 80, of Two Rivers, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center, in Green Bay, surrounded by his loving family.

Augie was born Aug. 1, 1926, in the town of Gibson to the late Carl and Rose Kasten Stueck, and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Eunice Mott on Aug. 20, 1949, in Manitowoc. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from Nov. 27, 1944 to Nov. 24, 1946 in the Philippines and in Japan. While in the service, he received the Army of Occupation Medal, the Japan Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Battle Star. He also received the Victory and the Good Conduct Medals as well as the Combat INF Badge. He worked in construction for the ACE Building Company for many years. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Larrabee Sportsman's Club, where he was in the Hall of Fame. He served as director for the Manitowoc Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed gardening, auto racing and fishing with his special friend.

Augie is survived by his wife: Eunice; one son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Sue Stueck, of Francis Creek; three daughters and sons-in-law: Marlene and Glenn Rezek, of Mishicot; Marilyn and Chuck Finnel, of Denmark; Marilee Stueck, of Maribel, and her special friend: Dave Hall, of Kingsbridge; eight grandchildren: John (Melissa) Havlovitz; Tyson (Amber) Wotruba; Jason (Rebecca) Stueck; Matthew Wotruba, and his special friend: Gina; Terri (Eric) Markham; Amy Stueck; Andrew Stueck, and his special friend: Amanda; Tommy Stueck; seven great-grandchildren: Katlyn, Michael, Maxwell, Valentine, August, Krystal and Trenton; and by two very special individuals: Matthew and Andrew Finnel. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Carol and Jack Gilbert, of Mishicot; Stanley and Shirley Mott, of Two Rivers; Janet Stueck, of Mishicot; Gertrude (Annie) Mott, of Mishicot; Phyllis Mott, of Mishicot; Edith Mott, of Manitowoc; nieces and nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother: Frederick Stueck; two sisters: Adeline (Elmer) Wilda and Caroline Rezek (Louis) Shimek; and by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Gibson, with the Rev. Maurice L. Hoppe officiating, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State St., in Mishicot.

Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Gibson, until the time of service at 11 a.m.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Augie was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be missed by his family and many friends.
