Giovanni Cerra, 37, of Concord, NC, formerly of Danbury, beloved husband of Mary (Moreyra) Cerra, passed away peacefully at his home, on October 7, 2012, after a brief illness.
Giovanni was born in Italy, son of Maria (Aiello) Cerra and the late Francesco Cerra. He came to the United States with his parents as a child and graduated from Immaculate High School. He lived in Danbury prior moving to Concord, NC, with his work at Verizon Wireless. He enjoyed Elvis Presley and Bee Gees music and was an avid soccer fan, especially the soccer team Sampdoria. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of Monroe.

In addition to his wife Mary and mother Maria, he is survived by his sons, Christian and Antonio of Concord, NC and his brother Carlo Cerra of New Milford. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Anastasia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Monroe, on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
