Robert E. Schneider, age 86, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, January 2, 2015 at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center.

Bob was born on November 25, 1928 in Sturgeon Bay to the late William and Arnelda Haver Schneider. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. On October 28, 1950, Bob married Colleen Mrotek at Wesley United Methodist Church in Manitowoc. Bob had worked at Mirro Corporation from 1947 until his retirement in 1990. While at Mirro, he had worked in Product Development, was a Senior Account Executive of Syndicate Sales, and a Manager of Department Store sales. Bob was an active member of Lakeshore United Methodist Church. He was involved in the church's choir, was a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Building Committee, Chairman of the Board and the Council on Ministries, Lay Leader, Co-Chair of Caring Ministry, member of the Lay Witness Team, and a certified Lay Speaker of the United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed spending his summers in Door County and Sister Bay.

Survivors include Bob's wife: Colleen; three sons: Brad Schneider, Manitowoc; Greg (Paula) Schneider, Manitowoc; and Jeff (Jolene) Schneider, Neenah; 12 grandchildren: Stephanie, Scott, Neil, Annie, Brian, William, Amanda, Jackson, Caitlin, Clayton, Lucas and Arnold; eight great grandchildren; half-sister: Katherine Miller; brother-in-law: Joseph (Jennie) Mrotek; sister-in-law: Gladys Schneider; nieces and nephews to include: Connie Ramseur, Randy Mrotek, Rick Mrotek, Susie Mrotek, and Lynn Rutherford; several cousins, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents: William and Arnelda Schneider; two brothers: William Jr. and Douglas; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Charles and Cecelia Mrotek; and sister-in-law: Beverly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Thomas Dunham will officiate. Cremation will take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel at a later date with burial of Bob's cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Lakeshore United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
