Bay Area- Cherry Donna Burnsed Smith, age 73 died Friday, January 02, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mrs. Smith was a native of Bulloch County, a homemaker and a member of Lawrence Baptist Church. She was a substitute teacher for several years and was poll manager at the Bay District voting precinct for 28 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, her cats but most of all, she loved her family.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Robert Smith of Bay Area, son Terry Smith of Bay Area; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Doug DeLoach of Bay Area; sisters Joyce Smith and LaWanda Dickerson; grandchildren, Betsy Mallard and Lacey Collins; great grandchildren, Brady and Lilly Mallard and Ella and Cail Collins.

Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Jan. 3, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
