BURLINGTON - Dale Lorfeld, Age 63, of Burlington, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. He was born June 22, 1948 in Manitowoc, to the late Edward and Mildred (nee Schnell) Lorfeld. Dale grew up in Spring Valley in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, attending Spring Valley Grade School and graduating from Kiel High School in 1966. He went on to attend UW-Oshkosh, graduating in 1971. On August 16, 1969 at St. John St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland, Wis., Dale was united in marriage to Sharon Bruckschen. Following marriage they resided in Oshkosh for a little over a year, then Schofield for 15 years before moving to Burlington where they have made their home for the past 26 years. Dale was a teacher in the DC Everest area schools in Schofield from 1971 until 1985. Since 1971, Dale had been very active with Lutheran Pioneers Inc., serving at various levels until he became the Executive Director in 1981. From 2004 until 2011 he had also worked part time with AdQuest Promotions of Sturgeon Bay. Dale was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Burlington, serving on the church council. He had become a certified Staff Minister of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 2005. Dale was also a member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Lorfeld, their daughters; Wendy (Larry) Johnson of Janesville, Amy (Kurt) Isenberger of Burnsville, Minn. and Stacy (Kevin) Becker of Milwaukee, grandchildren; Paul and David Johnson, Caitlyn, Hannah and Zach Isenberger and Jonas Becker, a brother Gary (Denece) Lorfeld of Green Bay and by a sister, Bonnie (Larry) Overland of Kiel. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 4:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burlington with Rev. Terry Laabs and Rev. Kirk Lahmann officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the CHURCH on Monday, from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, at 2:00 PM at Saxon Cemetery, town of Centerville, in Cleveland, Wis., performed by his nephew Pastor Matthew Lorfeld. Memorials have been suggested to either Lutheran Pioneers Inc, P.O. Box 651, Burlington, Wis., 53105 or St. John's Lutheran Church in Burlington.
