Ola married Robert Bushfield on October 5, 1950 in Hardy, AR.
Ola attended Sheet Metaling School and worked at a defense factory making gun turrents. She also worked for a hat factory and as a waitress at a restaurant in Mt. Grove, MO, where she met her future husband, Robert.
Ola was a member of the Broadland Methodist Church and the Broadland United Methodist Women. Ola was also a member of the Beadle County Farmers Union, the In Between Extension Club, and the Hope Ladies' Aid.
Ola enjoyed homemaking and gardening. She was known for her pies and her sugar and gingersnap cookies. Ola enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Surviving her are her son Mark (Mary Ellen) Bushfield of Hitchcock; daughters, Margaret (Peggy) (Jim) Curtis of Watertown, Mary Beth Bushfield of Watertown; eight grandchildren: Kathy (Joe) Waklee, Tim (Kayla) Curtis, Debbie Curtis, Tom (Emma) Curtis, Megan (Lyle) Riley, Adam Bushfield, Melissa Bushfield, Morgan Bushfield; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ola was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Robert in 2010; son, Larry Bushfield in 1990; daughter, Lora Bushfield in 2000; four brothers; two sisters; and a sister-in-law.
