Death of Mrs. Turner

Mrs. Katherine G. Turner, of Cheyenne, died at her home on Friday afternoon last, of heart failure. She was not feeling well and had gone to her room to lie down, and shortly afterward it was discovered that she had passed away--the position of the body indicating that death had come while she slept. The funeral was held on Monday and the remains interred beside her mother, Mrs. Ingersoll, who died about a year ago.

The deceased was a sister of the wife of the late Governor DeForest Richards who survives her, and for many years was a resident of Douglas--being proprietor of the Valley house and later engaging in the sheep business. In 1898 she removed to Cheyenne, where she has since lived and where she soon became a recognized social leader and identified with charitable and like organizations. It is needless to add that her sudden death is a shock to the many friends both there and here who knew and loved her in life.

Mrs. Turner is survived by one son, Edwin, 20 years of age and whose childhood was spent here. J. Def. Richards left for Cheyenne immediately on receiving the sad news and took charge of affairs.
