"Mrs. M.O. Bragg died last Saturday night at the residence of her brother, Mr. J.H. McIlveen, of our town, after an illness of only 2 or 3 days. She had long been a resident of Fairfield, having come to this place from Wilcox Co., Alabama in 1850. She was the widow of the late Capt. Dunbar Bragg, the last surviving brother of General Braxton Bragg; a highly cultured educated lady and was a
member of the Episcopal church; a good christian lady and loved by all who knew her.
Her death is the fifth one in the family within the last three months, her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon of Groesbeck, both having died recently. Her remains were interred in Fairfield cemetery, Sunday evening. She was 66 years old."
**J.H. McIlveen was Marthas half brother.
