Martha Lytle Rogan, a daughter of William Read Rogan and the former Miss Sarah Cecil, was born in the bounds of Gallatin in Summer County, Tennessee on the 10th day of September 1870.

Miss Rogan married Dr. William James Morrison on the 16th of June 1897. This union was blessed with five known children.

Dr. Morrison, a dentist in Nashville, is best known for developing the cotton candy machine with John C. Wharton; which they introduced at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.
