Samuel Ehrlich, 84, of Longmont, died January 1, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born January 7, 1930 in Torrington, Wyoming to Alexander Ehrlich and Elizabeth Albrandt.

Sam joined the U.S. Army at the tender age of 16 and honorably served for two tours of duty, one in Korea. On February 18, 1954 he married Leona May Davenport in Torrington, Wyoming. They moved to Longmont in 1961 from Fremont, Nebraska.

Sam worked for AA Plumbing for a number of years before joining U.S. Engineering. He served as a superintendent for many years, including much of the plumbing assembly at the Longmont Foods Plant. He was a member of the Plumber and Pipefittings Union, Local #208.

Sam will be fondly remembered for frequenting local restaurants, where he would go for not only nourishment, but the sociability experience as well.

Sam is survived by his 2 sons and his daughter, 4 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and his constant companions Boop, Sparky and Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leona in 2007, his son Ricky Ehrlich and his daughter Debra Schrader; his brothers Victor and Alex Ehrlich; and sisters Hermine Morgheim, Helen Lepp, Bertha Keller and Esther Harris.

Visitation hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7 at the Howe Mortuary Community Room. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8th at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at the Foothills Gardens of Memory.
