Kathryn J. Brunning-Coy- Hawley, 75 passed away at her home on December 14, 2014 with her family at her side.

The daughter of Lindsay L. and Mary M. (Norris) Slider she was born in Smithfield, West Virginia.

Kathryn was an avid reader; she enjoyed books from every genre. She was very talented and could turn anything into a work of art. She enjoyed giving these one of a kind creations to her friends and family. A wonderful listener, she would sit and hear your concerns with an open mind and heart; if you asked she would give you advice on how to cope and move on with your life. Kathryn was never one to judge; always one to help. She was a member of Compassionate Friends of Ashtabula, a group who gave her great support during her time of loss.

Kathryn will be remembered as the pillar and rock of her family. She could always be counted on to offer love and strength during your time of need. She was determined and strong, almost to the point of being called stubborn and hard headed. She loved her friends and family with a fierceness and passion. A wonderful mom, grandma and friend she will always be in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her son, David L. Brunning; daughter, Kathryn J. Brunning-Hall; one granddaughter; one grandson; and her brother, Richard L. Slider; her parents; as well as many other family members.
