Betty graduated form the University of Minnesota with a Medical Technology degree. She graduated "Magna Cum Laude," and was always quite humble about that.
In additon to her formal education, Betty was a very accomplished artist and also mastered needleworking. She started her artistic journey doing beautiful oil paintings and mid life she changed her art medium to water colors. She left most of her art works to her family and friends.
Betty married married James W. Copeland. They had four children together. Betty's husband died suddenly and she was left to run the business of "Northern Water Treating Company" and raise her four small children. She engaged a business partner and eventually Northern Water Treating Company was changed into " Northern Aire Swimming Pools".
Later in life Betty married Leonard Riley. They lived in New Hope, Mn. Betty passes away peacefully in her home with her husband and daughter with her.She was 82 years old.
Betty was a kind and gentle person and beloved by many. She is greatly missed.
