Nichols F. Wall, age 63, resident of Eads, owner of Wall to Wall Heating & Air Conditioning, husband and father, departed this life Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

From rock and standards to religious music, the consumate vocalist/songwriter/instrumantalist.

Nichols spent his early years on a farm near Forrest City, Arkansas. He was educated in the Bartlett, Shelby County, TN public schools, known as Nicholas or Nick. When he learned that his birth certificate showed Nichols, he embraced that name, and became Nichols Wall.

He worked various day jobs, while gigging at night, including MacDonald Brothers Electronic Supply and Repair, and Carrier Manufacturing (air conditioning), before starting a home improvement business.

There was a little joke I have heard Nichols repeat: "My brother is also a Wall. When we get together, we make a corner!" He liked simple, clean humor, as do I.

There was always music in his life. In the 1980's he was involved in Memphis live theatre, singing one of the leads in 'Pumphouse Boys and Dinettes' at Circuit Playhouse. He played local gigs in bands such as Armed Voices, DNA, and Firefall, known for retro rock-and-roll. In recent years he has written and performed through his church.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Wall will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 10th at the Victory Life Assembly of God Church at 11650 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068 with visitation one hour before services. A fellowship of family members and friends will follow the service at the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Wall was preceded in death by his parents, Fay Austin Wall and the former Bitha Odessa Ward. He received his education in the Shelby County public schools and was a graduate of Nicholas Blackwell High School in Bartlett, the class of 1969. He was married
"Mr. Wall was a resident of the Eads Community and a dedicated member of Victory Life Assembly of God Church, where he was a devoted member of the praise & worship team, playing his guitar and singing at every opportunity. He found great joy in entertaining and would volunteer his time to sing and play at the National Healthcare Center in Somerville monthly, narrating Santa Presents productions in Somerville as well as many other events. He performed in many local theatre and musical productions.

Mr. Wall married Nov. 11, 1989, and was a devoted husband and father. He rarely missed the opportunity to watch his children play sports, or perform at church or at school. He loved animals and saw God's beauty every day.

In addition to his loving wife of 25 years, Mr. Wall is survived by one daughter, one son, three sisters, one brother, and one aunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, David Sanders; his stepmother, Maye Wall; and his brother, Fred Wall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Leatherwood, John Dunn, John Watson, Steven Sanders, John McDowell and Stan Pilant, and Nichols' son.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Victory Life Assembly of God, 11650 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068."
