Ballerina. She studied at the St. Petersburg Imperial School and graduated into the Maryinsky Theatre in 1902. She became a first soloist six years later and also danced with the Bolshoi during. The same year she went to London to succeed Adeline Genée as prima ballerina at the Empire Theatre. Danced also with Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. Returned to Russia to dance concert performances but settled in London and founded a ballet school and the Ballet de la jeunesse Anglaise Company. Later she taught at the Legat School. She claimed to be the first to dance Fokine's Dying Swan in 1905.
