Andrew C Baird Dies at Age 87
Services for Andrew C Baird, pioneer resident of Housotn, were conducted from the Prospect Methodist Church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. A C Bishop, Houston Methodist pastor, officiating.
He was 87.
Mr. Baird, ill about a week, died at 10 o'clock Thursday night at the home of his son. O E Baird in Houston. He had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. O E Baird.
Interment was in Prospect cemetery, with Houston Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Baird who was born in Houston on Sept. 27, 1864, was a lifelong Chickasaw county resident and was a prominent and successful farmer until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Houston Methodist Church.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Henry Leopard of Okolona, Miss., and Mrs. Frank Holliday of Houston; eight sons, O E Baird, E E Baird, B L Barid, I W Baird, A L Baird, all of Houston; E O Baird of Salt Lake City, Utah, J C Baird, Montevallo, ala., M-Sgt A H Baird of San Antonio, Texas, who is stationed in Alaska. He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
