"Friends and acquaintances of this community were saddened on Tuesday of last week when news of the death of Mrs. Cora Tripp Allison was received here. Mrs. Allison, who was the widow of the late Clement M. Allison had resided at Portlandville since his death about six years ago. Mrs. Allison was taken to the home of her brother at Portlandville about six weeks ago, where she was most tenderly cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Tripp and family. Mrs. Allison was born in the town of Laurens, February 21, 1860, the daughter of William and Emerette Couse Tripp. After her marriage to Mr. Allison, her home had been near Cooperstown with the exception of the years since his death that she resided in Portlandville. In both places she had many friends who will feel her loss deeply. The funeral was held at the home of her brother on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. G. G. Summerson of the M. E. church officiating. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Emerett Tripp, aged ninety years who resides at the home of the son, Charles Tripp and wife (an only brother) and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tripp, nephew of the deceased; a step-daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Webster of Cooperstown. Those in attendance at the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Webster, Melvin Couse and George Couse, uncles of Mrs. Allison ... The body was placed in the vault at Lakewood cemetery later to be interred in the family plot. The beautiful flowers were evidence of the love and esteem of her many friends. The sympathy of all is extended to the family in this their sad bereavement." [The Otsego Farmer & Republican (Cooperstown, NY), Fri., Mar. 20, 1925, Page Eight]
