Phyllis M. Abner, 81, of Normal died Tuesday, Nov 25, 2003 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. Her graveside inurnment was held on Monday at Monticello Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the McLean County Historical & Genealogical Society.

She was born Jan 6, 1922 at Cisco to Clarence & Anna Fay McArty Cornell. Surviving are a daughter, Judith Caldwell, Bloomington; and a son, Jerry (Sharon) Abner, Normal; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Her parents, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Phyllis was a former secretary for the IL Agriculture Association, Bloomington for more than 16 years, retiring in 1977.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Normal; the Normal Twp Senior Center; and the McLean Co. Historical & Genealogical Society. She was an avid volunteer including Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, LeRoy Presbyterian Church, Leroy Fire Dept. Auxiliary, BroMenn Thrift Shop and BroMenn Gift Shop.

She loved to bowl and travel with her friends. She enjoyed so much her family and friends and embraced life.
