Fay Anderson Floyd, 89, of the Hiwassee Dam community, Murphy died Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
She was a native of the Shooting Creek community in Clay County, but had lived most of her life in the Hiwassee Dam community. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and exploring nature. Fay was a member of the Reid’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Glen and Myrtle Patterson Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Floyd; and a sister, Madge Parton.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Edwards and husband, Jerry of Cleveland, Georgia, and Tamara Talley and husband, David Jr. of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two sisters, Doris Ledford of Hayesville, and Clyde Darracott of Buford, Georgia; two brothers, Ray Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jack Anderson of Hayesville; and three grandchildren, Leah Edwards Porta, Valerie Edwards Johnson, and David Talley III.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Mark Handy officiating. The interment was in Reid’s Chapel United Methodist Cemetery.
