Alvin Ray Hansard,78, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, in Wichita Falls, Texas

Funeral Services will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Inspiration at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:00 in the evening on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the funeral home.

Alvin was born April 16, 1936 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Ira A. and Eula R. (Ivey) Hansard. He began his career as owning his own service station then further pursued his education to obtain a teaching degree in auto mechanics. Alvin married the love of his life Linda Kay (Robbins) on May 25, 1979, in the presence of many friends and the witness of Joe and Sharon Kirk. After his retirement from teaching , he and Linda began embarking on new careers, they were owners and operators of Stitchmakers Monogramming and Embroider Co., retiring after 16 years on January 1, 2006. Alvin was a man of great wisdom and knowledge, taking every opportunity to teach and educate anyone he met. He loved traveling and seeing the beauty in God's creation with his beloved wife Linda prior to her passing. Alvin joined the Maskat Shrine in May of 1966 and was very active and popular among the Shriners. Alvin's passion and hobby was wood working.

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Ira A. and Eula R., his wife Linda and sister Alice Marie.

He is survived and will forever live in the hearts of his family; brother, James Hansard and wife Carol of Wichita Falls, "The Light of His Life" Lawson Inglish and Logan Voss and their mothers Joy Inglish and Jessica Voss and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be David Hansard, Doug Hansard, Tyler Hansard, Bill Daugherty, Marcus Cleveland, Chuck Schmidt, Bryce Bennett, Cody Mitcham and Dylan Rodgers.

Instead of flowers that wither and die, the family asks that Memorial Contributions be made to Maskat Shrine, 5101 Henry Grace Fwy., Wichita Falls, Texas 76302, or Hospice of Wichita Falls 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
