D. T. Jumper, 83, of Waco died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at Scott-White Hospital, Waco.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Shupp officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites conducted by Paris Lodge. No. 27, AF&AM. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 9. 1913 in Lamar County to D. T. and Florence Francis Alabama Jumper, his mother was Florence Alvana Whitaker. Florence Frances Alabama Jumper was a grandmother.

He was a Methodist and a retired plumber.

He married Prentice Reed May 16, 1934. He was a member of Waco Masonic Lodge No. 92.

Surviving are his wife; a son David Jumper of Waco, a daughter, Judy Gage of Duncanville; two brothers, Ray Jumper of Paris and Ralph Jumper of Lubbock; three sisters, Alvana Freeman, Esther Goad and Rita Mae Shook, all of Paris; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Jumper and two sisters, Viola Freeman and Faye Smith. Pallbearers will be Herb Walker, Sam Smith, John Snellen, Lee Somerville, Clyde Burns and Joe E. Gray.
