Marcella M. Fowler, 80, of Slater, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater. Father Michael Penn will officiate. Pallbearers will be Levi Dennis, Wayne Anderson, Corey Perrin, Brandon Palmer, Vernon Means and Aaron Means. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born Aug. 16, 1918, in Aholt, she was the daughter of the late Louis W. and Elizabeth Schwering Stratman. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and worked at the Slater Garment Factory for over 20 years until her retirement.

Survivors include one son, William "Bill" Fowler of Slater; two brothers, Aaron Stratman of Belle Vista, Ark., and Gerald Stratman of Aalen, Germany; two sisters, Ellen Rittmaster of Independence and Stella Wilkinson of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
