Obituary:
On Nov 18, 2006, after a hard fight with pulmonary fibrosis, Jerry F. Mix died with
his family by his side at his home in Camp Verde.
Jerry was born in New Castle, IN, in 1939.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1957
(after graduating from Centerville IN High School), stationed in Albuquerque NM. He moved to Scottsdale after his service in the Air Force in 1961. He joined the Scottsdale Police Dept in May 1962. He also attended Arizona State University and graduated in 1974 with a B.S. degree. He retired in 1982 from the police department where he (had) reached the rank of sergeant.
In 1983 he moved to Camp Verde where he taught Administration of Justice and Poltical Science at Yavapai College, Clarkdale campus.
He is survived by his daughter Julieann Gable (Brian) of Camp Verde; his brother David A. Mix of Anderson IN; and four grandchildren.
Private services will take place at a future date. Bueler Funeral Home assisted the family.
