An active member of the LDS Church, having served as Young Women's president, ward drama leader, Junior Sunday School coordinator, Relief Society president on the Ricks College campus and ward librarian, Myrth Benson Bowen, 78, died at her home in Lyman. Born in Farnum, the daughter of Harry Lorenzo Benson and Anna Amelia Cherry, Myrth grew up and attended schools in the Ashton, Lyman and Madison High School

Married Dee Farrell Bowen, July 16, 1943, in the Logan LDS Temple, she enjoyed gardening, flowers and crafts. A member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, she served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Her husband, Dee F. Bowen; a daughter, Dee Anna (Alvin) Rees; sons, Paul M. (Aloma) Bowen, Stephen D. (Eilona) Bowen, Cary L. (Bonnie) Bowen; sisters, Eva Egbert, Verla (Ivan) Freeman, May (Vern) Scott; brothers, Melvin (Ruth) Benson, Keith (Dolorus) Benson, Clare (Ruth) Benson; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild survived Myrth. Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and a great grandchild.
