CAVE CITY – Berniece Alice Kissinger Absher, 86, of Cave City died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at a Cave City nursing home.

Born Nov. 25, 1916, at Fowler, Mo., she was the daughter of Lewis Hoffarth and Gracie Murr Hoffarth. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Side Southern Baptist Church in Cave City.

Survivors include a son, Buddy Kissinger of Searcy; a daughter, Vivian Howell of Cave City; five grandchildren, Debbie Duncan of Conway, Kenny Howell, Danny Howell and Tim Howell, all of Cave City, and Monte Kissinger of Memphis; 11 great-grandchildren, Cindy White, Stuart White and Thomas Duncan, all of Conway, Nick Howell of Jonesboro, Elisabeth Howell, Jeremy Howell, Melissa Howell, Shaena Howell, Candi Howell, Katie Howell and Christopher Howell, all of Cave City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, James Kissinger and Cloyce Absher; an infant daughter, Elisabeth Kissinger; and two brothers, Leland Hoffarth and Willard Hoffarth.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the East Side Southern Baptist Church with Van Edwards and Jim Tirey officiating. No graveside services will be held. Arrangements are by the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Al Brown, Jimmy Clem, Noel Mahan, Gary Melton, David Keller and Mordecai Marlin.
