Liese was the youngest of 10 children born to Peter Reimer (1855-1935) and Justina Regehr (1860-1917) in Steinfeld, Sagradovka. In 1919 she married Peter Enns (1897-1977), and they were blessed with 5 children; Elisabeth, Katharina, Helene, Peter and Justina. In 1937 (Oct) Peter was arrested, and the family assumed he had been killed, along with many other men from the village. But because of his skill as a veterinary, they sent him instead to a labor camp in Pleszek, Archangelesk, where he was the only doctor available, and that's how he survived. Released after 1953, he settled with his 2nd family in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In 1943 (Oct) Liese and the children had to flee to Poland, and after the war, they settled in Soest, Germany. While their son Peter remained in Germany, Liese and her 4 daughters emigrated to Canada in 1948, to Yarrow, BC. In 1950 they moved to Vancouver, where Liese married her 2nd husband, August Albert (1884-1959) in 1952. He was also a widower with grown children. Soon after 1956, they discovered that Peter was still alive in Russia, and they were able to correspond, though most of his letters were still heavily redacted. During the Cold War years all efforts to reunite had failed, and sadly they never saw each other again in this life. Peter died in 1977, and Liese passed away in 1993, at the age 93.
